In 2019, NOW Gallery presented the first UK solo exhibition by West Indian photographer Nadia Huggins.
Circa No Future navigated the boundaries between land and sea through a collection of filmic and photographic works captured in the southern Caribbean nation of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Huggins captured intimate scenes of a group of adolescent males, documenting a choreography of bodies underwater. Framed by dramatic coastal landscapes, the work reveals both a youthful camaraderie and spirit whilst exposing an undercurrent of vulnerability in her subjects.
To accompany the exhibition, we created a catalogue to display Huggin’s work along with critical essays by writers Melanie Archer and William Abbott.
